Five arrested on multiple charges following police pursuit

AUBURN, Ala. – On May 28, 2025, Auburn Police arrested Brooklyn Janae Denson, age 19, Char'Myia Quan'Dashia Rena Mitchell, age 19, Tyrese Smith, age 18, a 17-year-old juvenile and a 16-year-old juvenile, all from Montgomery, Alabama.
The arrest stems from Auburn Police receiving theft reports from two businesses on the evening of May 28. A business located in the 700 block of East Glenn Avenue and a business located in the 300 block of South College Street provided similar descriptions of the suspects.
Police located the suspect vehicle traveling near the 300 block of North Donahue Drive. When a vehicle stop was initiated, the vehicle fled recklessly, causing multiple collisions and damaging police vehicles.
The vehicle pursuit ended near mile marker 31 on Interstate 85, and the five occupants of the vehicle were detained. After further investigation, Auburn Police confirmed that the occupants of the vehicle were the suspects involved in the business thefts.
Each was charged with retail theft first degree. Mitchell was additionally charged with obstructing justice using a false identity. Denson was also additionally charged with obstructing justice using a false identity and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer (felony).
Denson ($15,000 bond), Mitchell ($10,000 bond), and Smith ($5000 bond) were transported to the Lee County Jail and held on their respective bonds. The juveniles were released to authorized adults at the request of the Lee County Juvenile Intake Office.
